Fearprint is a psychological horror film recommendation platform operated from New York, United States. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to Fearprint.
If you have questions or concerns about how we handle your data, you can reach us at hello@fearprint.com at any time.
We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information generated by your activity on the platform, and information we derive from that activity.
Account information: your email address, name, and password when you register. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Quiz responses: your answers to our 15-question fear profile quiz, which are used to build your initial psychological fear profile.
Film reactions: fear ratings (1-10), linger duration, whether you watched alone, and written comments you submit after watching a film.
Aftermath responses: your answers to post-watch questions about how a film affected you emotionally, physically, and psychologically.
Comments: any written text you submit about films on the platform.
When you use Fearprint we collect the following behavioral data to improve the accuracy of your fear profile and recommendations:
We collect behavioral signals because predicting your psychological response to horror films requires more than a one-time quiz. The more you engage, the more accurate your profile becomes. You can request a copy of all data we hold about you at any time — see Section 7.
In addition to what we collect directly, we derive additional insights from your activity:
Written comments you submit are analyzed by our AI system (see Section 4) to extract psychological signals about how films affect you. This analysis runs in the background and the results are not shown to you — they are used only to improve your fear profile and recommendations.
If you would prefer your comments not be used for AI analysis, you may request this by contacting us at hello@fearprint.com. This will not affect your ability to submit comments.
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to serve advertisements.
Fearprint uses AI systems provided by Anthropic (Claude) to power several features. Specifically, Anthropic's API is used to:
When you use these features, relevant data (such as your trait scores, quiz responses, and written comments) is transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy and data processing terms.
We do not store raw API responses beyond what is necessary to operate the platform. Generated content such as your profile summary and Fear Forecasts is cached in our database to avoid reprocessing.
You can read Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
We share your data only with the following parties, and only to the extent necessary to operate the platform:
We do not share your information with any other third parties, including advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
We retain your account data and fear profile for as long as your account remains active.
If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, including your fear profile, reactions, comments, aftermath responses, and behavioral signals.
Some aggregated and anonymized data derived from your activity — such as community-level film scores on the Fear Index — may be retained after account deletion, as it no longer identifies you personally.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. If you need help, contact us at hello@fearprint.com.
Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@fearprint.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls on our database.

Fearprint uses cookies and local storage only to maintain your authentication session and remember your platform preferences.
We do not use advertising cookies or any third-party tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to stay logged in or use certain features.
Fearprint may display links to third-party streaming platforms where films are available to watch. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, legal requirements, or data practices. When we make significant changes, we will display a prominent notice on the platform and, where possible, notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
